9 Newsletters
Ready for more family meals and noticing? The Art of Noticing from Rob Walker is a newsletter I look forward to. The ice breakers can be a perfect way to say hi to a second cousin. And I liked the topics like this issue on Local Adventuring.
The Browser is a weekdaily newsletter which recommends five, uncommon stories. There is a brief description and then a link to a story in The Browser or elsewhere.
Letters from an American from Heather Cox Richardson is one of the most popular newsletters and it should have also been is last week’s Pro-Democracy issue. Great perspective on current events from an historian.
Garbage Day from Ryan Broderick has stories like the “catgirl” prime minister of Finland. Certainly not ordinary stories.
It's Nice That Daily Roundup by Hudson Bec Group links to inspirations and articles for creatives. Not my favorite format, but it has some flair. Check out their link to an article on the influence of MTV logos.
Why is this interesting? newsletter does explainers at the end of each newsletter. Read what they have to say and then see if you agree about why it is interesting. Format creates a mental exercise for a wide variety of topics.
The Best Song Ever from Scott Frampton is another way to expand your musical horizons. Take a listen once a week.
The Wippet from McKinley Vallentine looks like it would be inspirational. I’ll have to trust since I’ve seen only a single issue.
Everyone loves Seth Godwin! His newsletter has long been a favorite of creatives.
Hope you enjoy the suggested newsletters from Magnet.
Explaining this newsletter numbering
When my old, obsolete computer was giving me trouble in mid-November, an issue of this newsletter was skipped and the numbering got out of sync. So #46 was skipped and this is issue #46. It will be followed by #50. Think of this issue as a catchup issue before the big #50 issue.
My new computer did arrive. It is going to take a little longer to transfer everything than I expected, but it is a very nice machine.
And BTW, there was a slight delay as I attended my son’s wedding in 29 Palms, CA. I’ll get caught up. And I’m proud of my son!
