Again four new lists, two new promoted newsletters and a total of 26 newsletters.
New Feature
You can now share any issue of a newsletter with via email. Click on the "email" button above or below any issue. This will open your Gmail or any other email client with a suggested email to a friend. Just complete the email address, edit as you wish, and you friend will see the "best newsletter I've read this week." If you don't want to talk politics with an uncle, try forwarding them a poetry or other newsletter to start a conversation.
The Newsletters
Logging in to Reading.email now gives you access to three more topic lists which might be considered seasonal: Curious, Recommendations and Gifts. There are now 36 newsletter list in the app. Please login this week and see the newsletters featured below:
This Week's Promoted Newsletters:
The Nib proves that not all newsletters are just words. Great comics everyday. And to start the gift giving theme, they sell paper magazines you can stuff into a stocking. Make The Nib part of you daily newsletter routine. Donations accepted.
Antivirus is a good read during the surge. Mary Beth Griggs publishes Antivirus: This week in COVID-19 research. Maybe it is the weekly format, but I find it less frantic that other newsletters. It always starts with a fairly long summary and then curated lists of Research, Development, and Perspectives articles. It ends with More than numbers.
Note: no publication compensated us for this promotion. This may not always be the case.
House List
Wired list includes eight newsletters which are useful if you are a paid subscriber of the magazine but not so much on Reading.email. The current sale is $5 for an annual subscription but with an renewal rate of $49.95. Conde Nast loves introductory rates and automatic renewals.
The flagship newsletter is “Wired”. “Wired Science” and “Tech in Two” have good reporting on Coronavirus. “Fast Foward” looks to the future. The “Longreads” joins several other Sunday long read publications (future list). Of course, Wired covers “Games”. The latest are “Gadget Lab” and “Deals”. All easy access to your paid content.
Topic Lists
In this issue Reading.email has three newsletter topics you can explore: Curious, Recommendations and Gifts.
Curious list is interesting, curious, true, known, obscura and in the bag newsletters. That is all that I need to say. Enjoy.
Recommendations list started because "Recommendo"newsletter which is an extension of the book by one of my favorite authors, Kevin Kelly. This may be the best use for QR Code in your home. "Product Hunt" and "BetaList" list new apps. "Lifehacker" primarily recommendations for improving your daily life and virtual life. "Wirecutter" is a New York Times publication of deals and products. "Sidekick" is the renamed Essentials newsletter from the Morning Brew.
Gifts list is a new list just for this virtual holiday gift season. The Strategist is New York magazines gift newsletter. “Design Milk” is a design studio of unique gifts. "Fresh Finds" and “Food52” show primarily items for you kitchen. "Wired Deals" for the tech.
