Newsletter discovery seems personal. Some of my friends depend on Google and others depend on friends sharing newsletters. Obviously both are important.
Finding.email is being recoded to optimize for Google Search. I’m waiting for updates to some tools which are promised in a few weeks. So late summer, early fall for the new version. This will make a big difference in usage.
The new version of Reading.email is being optimized for tablets and phones. This includes working with bad connections like on a subway. There are tradeoffs. Like search is limited. This version will make a big difference for regular users, not search engines. And it should be a lot more intuitive to use.
Thanks for your patience.
This Week’s Promoted List
No list this week. I didn’t anticipate the delays in getting some new newsletters in Reading.email. So the new list did not come together. In fact, things blew up so bad that it may be another month until this one goes public.
I’ll have to see how the summer goes in terms of adding new lists.
This Week's Promoted Newsletters
Make Me Smart is a weekly newsletter follows a similar format to the company's radio program MarketPlace: The News Fix, Smart In A Shot, and The Numbers. There is a link to the podcast too. The weekly newsletter helps when I miss listening to the daily radio show which I like very much.
Exile on Newbury St. is a classic rock, weekly newsletter where four friends challenge each others' taste in music. Recent bands include: Traveling Wilburys, Duran Duran, Aerosmith, Nick Drake, US, Peter Tosch, The Pretenders, Oasis, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. One person pitches and the rest respond. Entertaining. You might want to stream the album while reading the newsletter.
